What data is collected
Technical and security logs (no consent required)
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare processes standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and content delivery. This is necessary for the site to function and rests on mine and Cloudflare’s legitimate interest in running a secure, reliable website. I do not use these logs to identify individual visitors.
Analytics (only with your consent)
If you accept the cookie banner shown on this site, Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is loaded to help me understand which content is useful — for example, which portfolio case studies lead to enquiries, and which blog posts bring readers back. GA4 is not loaded, and no analytics cookies are set, until you actively accept. If you reject or close the banner without choosing, no analytics data is collected.

A small localStorage entry (cookie_consent) is also stored on this domain to remember your accept/reject choice, whether or not you accept analytics. It is not a tracking cookie and is never sent to any third party.
Who receives this data
- Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) processes analytics data via Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, under Google’s EU/EEA data-processing terms.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (San Francisco, USA) processes hosting, CDN, and security logs as this site’s hosting provider.
Neither company is instructed to sell your data or reuse it for their own advertising on this site.
How long data is kept
GA4 event data is retained for 14 months, the longer of GA4’s two retention options, chosen so year-over-year trends stay visible as this site develops — after which it is deleted automatically. This is separate from the _ga cookie’s own 13-month expiry in your browser. Cloudflare’s operational logs follow Cloudflare’s standard retention policy for security logs.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data I hold about you
- Request correction or deletion of that data
- Object to, or ask me to restrict, processing
- Withdraw consent at any time (see below)
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France, the CNIL (cnil.fr)

A note on international representation
This site processes a small volume of low-risk analytics data as part of a non-commercial personal portfolio. Given the occasional and limited nature of that processing, I currently rely on the exemption available under GDPR Article 27(2)(a) rather than appointing a formal EU representative. This is my own good-faith reading of the exemption, not legal advice — if the scale or nature of this site’s data processing changes, I will revisit this position.
