Get Started Using Google Analytics (Google Skillshop)

In March 2026 I completed Get started using Google Analytics , an official Google Analytics 4 (GA4) credential issued through Google’s own training platform, Skillshop. The credential is verified through Accredible using the Open Badges standard, and can be checked independently at its public verification page , certificate ID 57183 178334207.

What It Covers

Per the credential’s own criteria, completing the learning path means being able to understand how Google Analytics collects and processes data, set up an Analytics account in a way that supports specific business objectives, and describe how that data gets compiled into reports.

Where It Fits

This is the first of four modules in Google’s GA4 learning path on Skillshop, “Get started using Google Analytics,” “Manage GA4 data and learn to read reports,” “Dive deeper into GA4 data and reports,” and “Use GA4 with other tools,” which build toward the full, exam-based Google Analytics Certification. This entry is the foundation, not that exam-based credential itself. Like other Skillshop credentials, it’s valid for one year, through March 2027, and needs renewing after that.

Why I Took It

Web Analytics is one of the courses in the E-Business & Digital Marketing specialization of my Master’s in Management at CNAM Paris, and reading analytics data is a recurring, practical need in the digital marketing and digital strategy work I’ve done in my career. Taking this on was less a detour than the obvious next step given both.
