Student Recruitment & Promotion Staff, KP2MB, Universitas Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin
Contents
Six months after finishing the nursing diploma and a short stretch as a volunteer nurse , I joined Universitas Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin in February 2017, at KP2MB (Kantor Promosi dan Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru, the university’s promotion and new-student admissions office). Almost nothing about it connected to the clinical training that came before.
What the Role Involved
KP2MB’s job was getting prospective students in the door: designing and optimizing targeted social media ad campaigns aimed at lead conversion and funnel optimization for student recruitment, plus the visual and written branding assets that carried those campaigns, built to drive brand awareness across the university’s target audience segments.
Where It Led
A university-wide reorganization moved me out of KP2MB and into Public Relations & Protocol in April 2018, from acquisition marketing to institutional communications. Looking back, this is where the marketing instinct started, well before it had a name (funnels, lead conversion, ad optimization) or a Master’s built around it. Meta’s ad platform, the one behind those campaigns, is also the first entry on a longer list of tools I’ve since taught myself .
